Effective: July 2026 · ULTRA school private limited
Health, Safety & Medical Emergency Policy
Effective Date: 17 June 2026
Applicable to: All students (ages 3-8), parents/guardians, staff, and visitors of Ultra
1. Purpose
This Policy describes how Ultra (“the School”) manages health, hygiene, medication, and medical emergencies for children aged 3–8 years.
2. Health Information at Admission
- Parents must disclose all known allergies (food, medicine, environmental), chronic conditions (asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, etc.), and immunization records at the time of admission, and update the School promptly if anything changes.
- Parents must provide at least two emergency contact numbers and the name/contact of the child's pediatrician where possible.
3. Illness at School
- A child who develops fever, vomiting, rash, or visible signs of a contagious illness during School hours will be isolated comfortably and supervised, and the Parent will be called to collect the child as soon as possible.
- Parents are requested to keep a child at home for at least 24 hours after fever subsides or as advised by a doctor for contagious conditions, to protect other children.
- The School follows standard hygiene practices — handwashing routines, sanitized toys/surfaces, and health checks during outbreak-prone seasons.
4. Medication at School
- School staff will administer medication only with a written request from the Parent specifying the child's name, medicine, dosage, and timing, along with the medicine in its original labeled packaging.
- Emergency medication (e.g., asthma inhalers, allergy auto-injectors) for a diagnosed condition is kept accessible to trained staff with a written care plan from the Parent/doctor.
5. Allergies & Food Safety
- The School maintains a list of children with food allergies and shares relevant precautions with kitchen/canteen staff and class teachers.
- Parents are requested not to send food items containing a classmate's known allergen for shared celebrations, where informed by the School.
6. Medical Emergencies
- In case of an accident or medical emergency, School staff will administer first aid immediately and contact the Parent without delay.
- If the Parent cannot be reached and the School reasonably believes the child requires urgent medical attention, the School may take the child to the nearest hospital/clinic and continue attempting to contact the Parent and emergency contacts, in the best interest of the child's safety.
- Any medical expenses incurred in an emergency are payable by the Parent; the School recommends Parents maintain health insurance/coverage for their child.
7. Trained First Aid Staff
The School ensures at least one staff member trained in pediatric first aid is present on premises during School hours, and maintains a stocked, accessible first-aid kit.
8. Toileting & Personal Care
For younger children who may need help with toileting or changing, this is handled with dignity, privacy, and by trained staff, following the practices set out in the Child Safety & Safeguarding Policy (e.g., visibility/pairing safeguards).
9. Records & Confidentiality
Health records are kept confidential and shared with staff only on a need-to-know basis to ensure the child's safety, consistent with the Privacy Policy.
